Our Story

Coming soon from the previous owners of Dutchfix in Pella - a new family business adventure called BackRoads Retreat!  In 2023, the Bandstra family added a picturesque pond to their farm but wondered about what to do with the large open barn that was once home to their cows and now overlooked the pond.  Instead of just using it for additional storage space, they renovated it into a modern yet rustic event space that is steps away from the pond with sweeping views of the Iowa countryside.  BackRoads Retreat is a dynamic and interactive event space that is perfect for any type of gathering, from intimate family parties, friends' get togethers, or spiritual and wellness retreats, to unforgettable wedding ceremonies and receptions.
